SAFARI 4

Setelah Pebruari lalu dirilis sebagai Beta, hari ini Apple merilis versi final dari Safari 4. Safari 4 hadir dengan Nitro engine yang diklaim dapat menjalankan JavaScript sampai dengan 4,5 kali lebih cepat dari Safari 3, 4 kali lebih cepat dari Firefox 3, dan 8 kali lebih cepat dari Internet Explorer 8.. Fitur baru lainnya juga dibawa Safari 4 untuk dapat menghadirkan pengalaman browsing lebih intuitif dan menyenangkan seperti fitur Top Sites, Full History Search dan Cover Flow®. Versi teranyar dari Safari ini juga telah mendukung standar web modern seperti HTML 5 dan advanced CSS Effects.

Fitur Top Sites yang dihadirkan pada Safari 4 ini akan memungkinkan untuk tampilan dari situs-situs favorit dalam bentuk tumbnail ketika membuka tab baru namun dengan visualisasi yang menurut saya lebih menarik dari Speed Dial pada Opera atau thumbnail Most Visted pada Google Chrome.

Visualisasi menarik juga dihadirkan dengan adanya fitur Cover Flow yaitu ketika ingin melihat situs yang pernah dibuka dan di-bookmark yang memungkinkan melihat tampilan penuh seperti ketika halaman web dibuka terakhir kalinya. Situs-situs yang pernah dibuka dan tercatat dalam history juga dimungkinkan untuk dilakukan pencarian dengan adanya fitur Full History Search.

Dalam hal pemenuhan standar web, dapat dicatat bahwa Safari 4 merupakan browser versi final pertama yang telah berhasil lulus

Sampai versi terakhir ini, Safari baru tersedia untuk pengguna Windows dan Mac OS X.
